- go with the lexus suv hybrid.. its FAAAAST
- I recently bought a 2007 Prius and so for its great. The gas mileage ranges at 50 to 55 mpg . has tons of available features and options, drives good, rides good, handles great, easy to manuever, tight turning radius, back up camera. smart key stsyem enables u not to have put key in long as its on u such as pocket /purse etc. u can go up and touch the door handle and it unlocks, the hatch back sorta gives wife that suv feeling, very fun car to drive. and its a great Hybird. i done lots of reveiwes and asked tons questions before i decided but i am glad i did. its the car of the future unless gas prices fall tremdously and dont see that happening, and even if they do produce a better option on a greener car for the envronemt and a alterntive on fuel prices you will save tons on gas while they r doing so. and u do get a tax incentive . I love our prius and I am a guy who has always been a pickupman, i still have my full size truck but i do enjoy driving the prius. great car. iw ould suggest getting the extra mile warranty which is 6 yrs/100,000 miles. this covers everyhting except brake pads , tires oilcages etc. but anything that goes wrong on the car is covered free rental car assitance and no deductibles etc. well hope this helps u make ur decision ..
- Planning on getting one, have friend who have one. There is nothing bad that can be said about it.
- Pretty much everyone who has one likes it... But don't take my word for it - check out used cars available for sale in your area... see many of the Prius hugely reduced? Now pick a car you know to be unpopular and check out the used car market price for that compared to new... They're that popular you might even see a well-looked after, low mileage Prius sell for MORE than a brand-new one - one reason being the convenience of being able to drive off immediately rather than having to wait weeks for manufacture and shipping.
- I've never heard of a Prius owner who wasn't thrilled with the car. I bought one in February and absolutely love it. I get about 50 mpg, it drives great, the dashboard computer is super cool, it's got tons of room (I can fit 2 bicycles inside with the back seats down), it's very comfortable - there's just nothing negative about it. The batteries last the lifetime of the car and are under warranty for 8-10 years, it only needs oil changes ever 5,000 miles, it has a $1750 tax rebate, you make up the extra initial cost in gas savings in 5-10 years, and it was recently named the greeest car on the planet: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070727/sc_nm/cars_pollution_dc It's the best car on the road right now.
- The model or style of Prius that is out right now is often referred to as the Second Generation Prius in the US. It came out in the fall of 2003 as a 2004 model year vehicle. I bought one of the first ones to get to the US in October of 2003. I have over 155,000 miles on it. In all sincerity, it still feels looks & drives like it did when it was brand new. I love driving it more than any of our other family vehicles, one of which costs quite a bit more than the Prius. The Prius will definitely spoil you. Many of us that have experienced this being spoiled by the Prius jokingly refer to it as ‘Prius-Zen’ because you quite unexplainably & illogically feel good when you drive it. Almost any owner out there will tell you the same & it has nothing to do with being environmentally smug or feeling brighter than the average bear. It plainly is a different kind of car & it just plain feels good when you drive it. I am still mesmerized by it after 155,000+ miles. OK, back to reality; the steering wheel doesn't even have any shiny spots from my hands yet. Most of my cars get those goofy shiny spots at somewhere between 50,000-80,000 miles. The Prius @ 155,000+ plus doesn't have them at all. The steering & suspension feel still feel very tight & new. I have not replaced a single thing on that car beyond the normal oil, filters, spark plugs & tires. I haven’t even had a light bulb go out yet. I have not replaced any brakes yet. I was on my 4th set of brake pads in my Civic by the time I had 90,000 miles on it. My seats still look & feel like new. My Civic seats' springs were poking through by the time I had 85,000 miles on it. Please don't get me wrong. I loved my Civic & I do love Honda & they, without doubt make some of the best cars on the road. I never thought I could be as happy as I am with this car. It is truly a marvelously well engineered piece of machinery. Some people complain about the Prius not getting the EPA rated mileage. I happen to get the EPA & a bit better but, I do admit to driving carefully. Remember though, that Toyota is bound by law to post those EPA ratings. This problem is being fixed now by the EPA. My lifetime average fuel mileage is 51.7 MPG. That is 70% better than I did in my Civic practicing the same driving styles.
- Yes, I love it and all the reasons why have already been said above, so I will not repeat them. But if you're wondering about the brakes and how they could be that much better, it's because of the regenerative braking system that the Prius has. When you use the brakes in a conventional car, all the friction caused by the braking action gives off a lot of heat. Heat is basically energy that has not been converted into a useful form (sorry to any physics buffs out there - I know there's probably a better way to explain that). Well, in a Prius, that excess energy is converted into electricity and used to charge the hybrid battery. So when you're braking, (and even when you're coasting) you are creating energy that is used again by the car... pretty cool!
